Walk In Her Shoes

2012 Walk In Her Shoes Canadian Charity Event

She needs to walk an average of 6 km a day to gather the things she needs to keep her family alive. CARE is challenging you to try and experience what this is like.

Walk In Her Shoes is a CARE Canada charity fundraising event where participants challenge themselves with a personal or team walk and raise money to empower women and girls and fight poverty in the developing world.

On March 8th, join thousands of Canadians who will walk 8,000 steps for 8 days to simulate what a woman or girl experiences daily in the developing world.

Women and girls in developing countries are disproportionately affected by poverty and are often responsible for collecting water, firewood and other basic necessities. This leaves little time to attend school, access health services or earn money to support their families.

Raising funds for Walk In Her Shoes charity event allows CARE Canada to empower poverty stricken women and girls by working to improve gender equality, improving access to health and medical services, providing access to education, building and rehabilitating water/sanitation systems to provide clean, safe drinking water and provide livelihoods assistance, including women-focused village savings and loan associations.

Celebrate International Women's Day this year by joining the CARE Canada Walk In Her Shoes event - Canadian charities in action.

When you join, your registration kit includes a pedometer, shirt, poster and other fun goodies. And when you or your team raises $750.00 or more, you’ll automatically be entered in our contest to win an exotic trip for two! Register Now
